Your Hub for Democratic Engagement in North Central Texas

Texas Primary: March 3, 2026

Early Voting: Feb 17-27

About Us:

The DFW Area has a variety of Democratic/Progressive organizations for like minded citizens to join and with events to promote and project our candidates and values. Some groups span multiple counties, while others are only located in a single county, but each group has its own individual focus. Some raise money for candidates, some meet monthly with speakers, some are more of a social gathering, some plan rallies and protests, etc. Read through a brief description of each group to find one or more which appeal to you and contact them through the designated website for additional information about their general location, meetings, event types, etc. Some have a modest membership fee, but virtually all will welcome you to come see what they are doing and listen in without any charge. While the County Democratic Parties are the primary political organization for each county, they do not control any of the other groups.

How to Become Involved:

  • Sign up with mobilize.us (Middle of Mobilize Website page).
  • Sign up with organizations in your county.
  • Check the TX-DEMS.ORG website often.
  • Contribute to Democratic candidates and organizations. A couple of dollars goes a long way.

About this event

Join us for our monthly club meeting. Our very own Kendall Scott will be giving us a presentation on "Corruption in the Family Court System -- Domestic Violence, the Judicial System, & the Texas State Legislature." We will also be doing an ICE Warning Whistle Kits assembly activity, courtesy of Solidarity Warriors, Michelle Wright, & other generous members who are 4D printing the whistles for us. We will also have a last look at some of our Democratic Primary Candidates, as Early Voting starts on Feb. 17th and Election Day is March 3rd. Come hear from Vikki Goodwin for Lt. Governor, your candidates for Justice of the Peace, Trista Willeford for JP3 for Lewisville & Will Robertson for JP4 for Flower Mound, and one or two candidates more. As we did in November, December, & January, we are finishing up our Winter Donations Drive, so please be sure to bring non-perishable items, pop-top canned goods, and/or clean/new blankets. Beth Porter Varma with Denton Basic Services will come to collect our donations. Like every monthly club meeting, the first half hour is for socializing & eating brownies. The presentation portion of our meeting will start at 7pm. Sign up through the mobilize link & let us know you're coming!

Why Protest?

This text comes from Google AI Mode:

In essence, people protest to express disapproval or dissent about a policy, practice, or situation, hoping to bring about change.

Here are some key reasons why people protest:

  • Grievances: Protests often arise from feelings of injustice, inequality, or a lack of representation, especially among marginalized groups.

  • Desired Change: Protesters aim to pressure those in power to change policies, address specific issues, or implement reforms. This could involve advocating for better working conditions, environmental protection, or social justice.

  • Raising Awareness: Protests can highlight important issues that may be overlooked by the mainstream, drawing attention and sparking public discourse.

  • Influencing Public Opinion: By framing the issue in a particular way and generating media coverage, protests can shift public attitudes and build support for their cause.

  • Demonstrating Strength and Solidarity: Protests provide a platform for individuals to show their numbers and express their collective opposition, which can be particularly impactful for groups that feel powerless.

If you want to add your organization, edit a message or website, etc. please let us know.

We are NOT building a master email contact list, but are leaving that up to each organization.
